My husband and I recently moved to our long-time CT summer house from our apartment in NY. We wanted to mesh the contents of both homes and make our CT house feel less like a summer house and more like a full-time home. We were not up for a big renovation (been there, done that) or for buying a lot of new furniture (we were trying to get rid of some). We had never worked with a designer before and were worried they would go overboard on what we were trying to do. Kelly delivered exactly what we asked for! She came up with a few relatively simple changes that completely transformed our spaces. She really listened to us, offered choices and then helped us execute on those choices. Kelly was so helpful to me in the sale of my home, first by coming to my house early in the process, walking through every room and providing me with a detailed plan of how to make my home more attractive to buyers (with suggestions for updated paint colors, fixtures, what furniture to keep and what to remove, how to reorient some things, curb appeal, etc.) and then staging some key rooms to really make them look beautiful and photo ready when the house was about to be listed. She is not only personable, but very talented and professional, and it was a pleasure to work with her. I really believe that her staging was a key factor in my house selling so quickly and for a great price! We recently hired Kellydesigns to help us stage our home to sell. She did an excellent job giving us recommendations for each room in our home. After the walk-thru, she emailed us a list of things to do (paint, add area rugs, art work and move or add furniture) with links on where to purchase or the cost to stage the house using her items. We chose to stage our family room, living room, dining room and master bedroom. Kelly used a mix of our items and hers to create a cozy space. We also took her advice and replaced our kitchen countertops as well as paint some dated rooms. We sold our house in 3 days with multiple offers. My husband was a skeptic but staging helped us to go into a multiple offer situation and we received well over asking price. We now hate to leave our house but we look forward to working with Kellydesigns to help create a cozy space in our next home. No more waiting until it's time to sell! Thank you Kelly!

My house is an American Craftsman and it is 100+ years old. The house is very charming and unique. Craftsmen architecture is typically alot of wood and angles. My living room was dark and dated and I needed help too lighten it up and bring it up to date. Kelly did a great job from the choice of fabrics for the new furniture..to the carpet..to the window treatments. My living room now is comfortable, light and fabulous! Kelly did a great job!

We are glad that we chose to work with Kelly again, this time for a full kitchen makeover and furnishing and decorating a large family room from scratch. Kelly recommended some amazing changes for our family room ! We took down book shelves and replaced with shiplap. We also painted our brick fireplace white and added a wood mantle. All look fantastic! She also consulted with us regarding mirrors, fixtures and tiles for our master ! Awesome !

Kelly understands the market. Our house had been on the market for three years. Finally, we decided that we needed to have the house staged. We interviewed three different stagers and decided on Kelly. She came across as confident and knowledgeable as to the changes required to our decor to improve its appeal. We followed her recommendations and in less than a month the house was sold. Kelly was fast, efficient, works with painters that respond quickly, so the staging was completed quickly. My introduction to Kelly Designs was at an informational program on home staging and design at our local library. She was precise and professional, explaining the benefits of staging prior to selling. My first impression was how she cared and genuinely wanted to help us with our impending sale, even if we chose not to utilize her services. We called Kelly prior to listing the home. She chose the perfect paint colors and after her initial visit, presented me with a detailed proposal, which outlined all her recommendations. Words cannot adequately express the magnificent job she did on my house! After staging, when I walked into the house, I felt like I was on an HGTV show. Wow! What an incredible transformation! I did not recognize my own house! Kelly is truly GIFTED in the world of design. The house sold in approximately 1 month. During that period of time, Kelly was always accessible and available to help with every need. She is a marvel and I highly recommend her services!

My husband and I feel really grateful that we found Kelly to help us furnish and decorate our new home. I talked to other interior designers in the area but none made me feel as confident and secure in their abilities to deliver what we wanted and needed as Kelly. Kelly recently staged a house we have for sale in Connecticut. In doing so, she transformed the house into a home that exudes style and subtle sophistication. At all times Kelly displayed initiative and resourcefulness. She was creative, thoughtful, and decisive, and she had relationships with painters, carpenters, electricians and movers that were invaluable. She basically functioned as a general contractor, as well as designer, and was able to quickly mobilize and coordinate the workers so that the entire project came together in a remarkably short time. She painted our kitchen cabinets and two main rooms and added a beautiful lighting fixture that has made a huge difference in our kitchen. The price for all this was lower than I thought it would be and probably lower than I could have negotiated myself for this one-time job.

I was skeptical of the "staging" process at first, but it was recommended by my broker so I went ahead.. The cost of the "improvements" Kelly suggested and the staging were significant , but it sold the house. I had two offers in the first week and the house is sold. Prior to the staging we had tried to sell but could not get any offers.

I have had the pleasure of working with Kelly on (3) different type of project and she is consistently terrific to work with! Kelly's incredible talent for design goes beyond interior decorating. She was gracious enough to agree to design and construct the flower arrangements and centerpieces for my wedding, and although I knew they would be beautiful, she completely blew me away. The house that belonged to me for the last 15 years was painted and decorated the way my wife and I liked it, complete with family photos, trinkets, quirky furniture and odds and ends that made us feel that it wasn’t just a house, but our home. My agent and I agreed that the right price will sell the home quickly however Fairfield is a buyers’ market, so even a great price was no guarantee. I needed an edge. That edge was Kelly. I found Kelly through Houzz as I was searching for a solution to all my redecorating needs. Kelly was always responsive, worked with my ideas, and stayed within my budget. She gave me choices for materials and products, which narrowed down my work immensely. She also helped me find some other vendor, like my painter, upholsterer, and an awesome woman who made custom draperies and hung them with the hardware. Kelly was worth her fee and then some. I highly recommend her.

She did everything to help us decorate each room from top to bottom - researched and advised on colors, fabrics, furniture, knobs, artwork - everything. Communication was never an issue. Kelly managed to fit every piece of furniture into my new home and make it all look as if it was ordered for the space. She helped me pick paint colors that are beautiful and peaceful providing exactly the feeling I needed in my new home. Both of my daughters each picked out bedding. Kelly worked with each one of them indiviuallly to pick out paint colors and room designs using existing furnishing we owned that they LOVE. My son had one request, that we bring his desk to his new smaller room. I was sure the room was too small, but Kelly ultimately came up with a terrific layout which includes the desk from his old room. When the movers arrive, all went seamlessly since Kelly provided me with floor plans for all the rooms. And I recently heard my daughter comment to her friend how much she loves her new home. Kelly is worth her weight in gold. She is a lovely person and an asset to her profession. Kelly transformed our 5,000 plus square foot house in three hours, and my husband and I just love it. Kelly did a fantastic job with our living room. She paid attention to our budget and made the entire project come together like magic. Kelly created three separate seating areas and designed a large window seat that all work together and create a great flow for the over-sized room. Using neural colors for the larger pieces like the couches, chairs and ottoman, Kelly was able to strategically place pops of color to create the desired color pallet. She made it work without requiring us to commit to the color scheme indefinitely. This gives us the flexibility we requested. The fireplace, vaulted ceiling, sliding glass door, window seat, and two sets of french doors seemingly posed no obstacle for Kelly, and we are very happy with the final product. Before hiring Kelly, the room was a giant empty space, and now it is my favorite room in the house. It feels updated and modern but still classic and tasteful.
