The addition of the cowhide and leather swivel chair from Vanguard adds a bit of fun and works with this more contemporary look.

The stone Fireplace and surround is complemented by the wall color. The stain master area rug is from the Dixie Home collection helping to make the space more child friendly.

The custom window treatments we used are Roman shades with blackout lining for privacy and optimum TV viewing. The stationery panels add texture and warmth and finish off the room.

This homeowner has two young children so the makeover had to have some sophistication and still be functional and accessible to the children. Using a microfiber fabric in a dark color allows for any mishaps or spills on the furniture. We used a greyish green Benjamin Moore paint on the walls (Nantucket Grey) that works well…
